Once in a lifetime Adventure!

It's not everyday that you get invited to go sailing on a private yacht. Actually, I asked to be invited by the owner, David Craft, a good friend who used to be my client when I was still working (my first and last job!)  He decided to retire here in the Philippines in 2004.  We have been planning this as early as March this year but there's always conflict in our schedules. When I told him if we can visit him after All Saint's Day, he's more than willing to accommodate us.

The semestral break was the perfect time to go and visit him in Subic where he's presently residing. The kids were longing to go out of town and both got so excited when I told them that we'll go sailing.  Of course I also looked forward to this short trip too. I also deserve a sem break!

It has been raining almost everyday the past days but we were blessed to have a good weather the day we arrived in Subic.  David was already waiting for us at the entrance of the Subic Bay Yacht Club. It's our first time (and hopefully not the last) to go sailing and we're all very very excited!

Can't hide the excitement!

According to David, most of the boats are owned by politicians and prominent businessmen. They also see showbiz personalities once in a while. I'm glad that we were given a chance to take a peak on how the rich and the famous live, even just for a few hours.

The first boat is owned by Gabby Lopez (CEO of ABS-CBN)
The boat in the middle is owned by FG Mike Arroyo
Behind Belle was the boat used in Agua Bendita (soap opera of ABS-CBN)
David has been sailing for as long as I can remember. He used to live in Manchester, England and told me stories of his sailing adventures. He sold his boat when he decided to settle here in our country. Then bought a second hand boat from an Australian and refurbished it according to his own preference which cost him a fortune. What a handsome boat!

We were not able to take more pictures inside the boat but there are 3 small cabins with bunk beds, a nice master's bedroom, two bathrooms and a receiving area or the salon.  It's very clean and well-maintained by his crew Kuya Bogs.

Too much snacks!
Great day for sailing!

Happy kids made Mommy very happy too!

Relaxing day for Daddy :)

Great views! We spent two hours sailing around the Marina. We had a very relaxing time. It was so peaceful in the middle of the bay. Belle even fell asleep while we were going back to dock!

David booked us in Vasco's Hotel owned by his friend. The place is still inside the Freeport zone and just across the Marina.

Matt insisted to drop by the carnival after dinner. Belle was already asleep :(

It was rainy the next day but we still enjoyed our Ocean Adventure trip. I will not be able to post our pictures (hopefully next time)

We rarely go on long trips as a family. It's getting harder for us to travel because not all places are accessible to Matt. We always need to tag along two helpers (Matt's yaya and Kuya Joseph who helps in carrying Matt during transfers.) Trips abroad will surely be very expensive! This short break was indeed a blessing to our family!

I heard Matt one night when he was praying that he wishes to go to Singapore next summer! I told him that he needs to pray harder. Daddy was only smiling :)
